7 Easy Words for IELTS Writing Task 1

Here are 7 words and phrases you can use on IELTS bar charts, line graphs and tables: similar, around, highest, lowest, fluctuate, around, in contrast.

Using words like these will help you get a better score for vocabulary.

WRITING TASK 1 – BAR CHART

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

The bar graph below is a summary of financial assistance given and reimbursements made, from fiscal years 2002 to 2010.

Describe the information in the chart below. Include information about both kinds of payments, assistance and reimbursements. Support your answer with actual numbers from the graph.
