The IELTS Speaking Exam is 3 parts.

PART 1

(4-5 minutes)

You answer questions about your life, your activities and your interests.

PART 2

(3-4 minutes)

The examiner gives you a topic with 4 questions. You speak for 1 to 2 minutes about this topic.

PART 3

(4-5 minutes)

Part 2 and Part 3 are about the same topic, but Part 3 is more academic.  In Part 3, the examiner asks your opinion about topics related to Part 2.

Below are 25 common speaking topics for the IELTS Part 1.
