Arrest Made in Ogun Community for Suspected Cult Activity
A suspect, Ademuyiwa Akanni, has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command on allegations of being involved in cultist activities in the Adigbe community of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area in Ogun State.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, released a statement on Tuesday confirming the arrest of Akanni, which came shortly after the occurrence of a cult clash in the area that resulted in a fatality and a gunshot wound.
Reportedly, an individual was killed while another sustained a gunshot wound during a recent clash in the Afobaje area of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, believed to be linked to a cult conflict.
Following credible intelligence received by the Anti-Cultism unit of the command, operatives immediately took action and apprehended the suspect in Adigbe area. Akanni, known as “Mate,” was found in possession of a locally made pistol and a cartridge. He confessed to being a member of the proscribed Buccaneers confraternity, also known as ‘Alora,’ and provided valuable information that could lead to the apprehension of other suspects.
