Fayemi, cleric ask security agencies to unmask Ekiti monarchs killers

The recent killing of two monarchs in Ekiti State has led to condemnations from former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, and a pastor, Christ Apostolic Church, Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Sam Olu-Alo. Gunmen believed to be kidnappers are suspected to be responsible for the tragic incident along the Ipao-Oke Ako Road. The victims, Oba Olatunde Olusola and Oba Babatunde Ogunsakin, were returning from a function in Kogi State when they encountered the assailants. Oba Adebayo Fatoba managed to escape and promptly informed local security of the attack.

Fayemi called on security agencies to take decisive actions against the escalating criminality in the country. He highlighted the need for a comprehensive approach involving all sectors of society to combat the issue. Similarly, Pastor Sam Olu-Alo urged Governor Biodun Oyebanji and security agencies to uncover the perpetrators of this heinous crime, expressing solidarity with the government and people of Ekiti State.

In addition, the Civil Society Joint Action Group revealed that 17,469 Nigerians were abducted between 2019 and the present under the administrations of Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu, with 10% of the incidents occurring during President Tinubu’s tenure. The escalating criminal activities have raised concerns and emphasize the urgency for effective measures to address the security challenges facing the nation.
