'My hard work has earned it' Claims Pastor who lost $1 million worth of jewelry during church sermon

Following the theft of his valuables in the midst of a church service, a lavish Brooklyn bishop has defended his extravagant way of life.

Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead was delivering a sermon when intruders stormed into the church and seized jewelry worth $1 million belonging to him and his wife.

Miller-Whitehead, known for his penchant for flaunting Gucci attire, diamond-adorned chains, and luxury cars, faced criticism for his lifestyle choices in the aftermath of the robbery.

He was quick to clarify that the theft was not a consequence of his ostentatious display of wealth.

Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead, who previously served a five-year sentence for identity fraud and grand larceny, asserted on Instagram that his public indulgence did not lead to the armed robbery during his live-streamed service in Canarsie.

The 44-year-old clergyman articulated, “It’s not about me being extravagant. It’s about me purchasing what I desire. It’s my prerogative to buy what I want.”

The bishop emphasized that he should not be held accountable for drawing attention in the community due to his standing.

He further added, “At times, being a well-known bishop is both a blessing and a curse. You become the talk of the town.”

During the robbery, Miller-Whitehead and his wife were adorned with jewelry and gold valued at over $1 million.

The culprits made off with items totaling $1,060,000, including a $75,000 Rolex watch, $75,000 Cavalier watch, a $25,000 Episcopal ruby and diamond ring, a $25,000 Episcopal diamond ring, a $25,000 pair of earrings, a $20,000 diamond and emerald cross, a $20,000 Episcopal ring, a $20,000 Episcopal cross, and a $10,000 Episcopal gold cross.
