TCN expresses concern over increasing obstructions of right-of-way and vandalism of transformers

….Urges Army, NSCDC to assist in securing power lines

The rising interference with the right of way of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) lines across communities in its six mandate states has been a cause for concern. The company revealed that this, along with the theft and damage of its equipment in states such as Rivers, Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Bayelsa, is posing a significant challenge to power transmission.

In response, the company has called on the Federal Government to deploy military personnel and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps operatives to help secure power stations.

Dr. Inugonum Thomas, the General Manager of TCN, Port Harcourt Region, made this appeal while speaking with the media after conducting a tour of the company’s facilities in Port Harcourt.
