Moment the Ekweremadus and their doctor, Obinna Obeta, were sentenced by a UK judge
The judgment day arrived for the Ekweremadus and their doctor, Obinna Obeta, in a UK court. A video capturing the sentencing by a judge at the Central Criminal Court, also known as Old Bailey, was shared online.
The former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice Ekweremadu, were convicted for Organ trafficking in March. On May 5, the judge sentenced Ike Ekweremadu to a prison term of nine years and eight months, while his wife received a sentence of four years and six months. Obinna Obeta was handed a 10-year jail term.
As per the judge’s words, Ekweremadu is expected to spend approximately 5/6 years in prison, which is 2/3 of his 9+ year sentence, while his wife’s prison term is around 2 years, which is half of her 4+ years in prison.
