Hamas’s Spokesperson Leaves Interview Abruptly When Pressed on Justifying Killing of Israeli Families
A high-ranking Hamas representative abruptly left a BBC interview when questioned about the justification for the killings of sleeping Israeli families.
Ghazi Hamad, Hamas’s deputy foreign minister in Gaza, was being interviewed by the BBC’s Middle East correspondent Hugo Bachega regarding the brutal murders of up to 1,500 Israelis.

During the interview, Hamad implied that there were no orders to kill civilians when Hamas invaded Israel on October 7, a violent act that involved terrorists descending into the desert, surrounding the Nova Festival, and massacring 260 festivalgoers as they attempted to escape.

Subsequent footage revealed the massacre at Be’eri Kibbutz, where people were slaughtered in their sleep.
Images from the scene depicted blood-spattered rooms. Within one household’s bedroom, at least three lifeless bodies were abandoned by Hamas fighters, who killed a minimum of 100 individuals in the community. A woman lay facedown in a pool of her own blood, her blonde hair stained with blood, while the wall behind her bore at least six bullet holes.
Distressing photos also captured the aftermath of a bloodbath at a preschool, where Hamas terrorists fired shots, leaving teddy bears riddled with bullets and claiming an unknown number of innocent lives.
Responding to the killings during the BBC interview, Hamad stated, “because the area was very wide, there were clashes and confrontations.”
To this, BBC correspondent Bachega pointed out that it was not a confrontation when they invaded people’s homes.
Hamad replied, “I can tell you we didn’t have any intention or decision to kill civilians.”
He was then questioned on how he could justify killing people as they slept. Hamad then glanced to the side and removed his microphone.
“I want to stop this interview,” he said.
He then threw the microphone onto the floor, ending the discussion.
