Problems Arising with Kanye West’s New Titanium Teeth

A leading Australian dentist has pointed out an issue with Kanye West’s unconventional titanium teeth reconstruction.

The rapper, aged 46, startled his fans last week by unveiling a set of titanium dentures on Instagram, reminiscent of a Bond villain’s appearance.

According to sources, Kanye claimed to have replaced his teeth with the titanium appliance to achieve a permanent new look, which he supposedly designed personally.

However, Dr. Sam Koh, a renowned cosmetic dentist working at Dental Boutique as a Principal Dentist, has expressed considerable concerns regarding Kanye’s new dental alteration.

Dr. Koh believes that Kanye may face difficulties in properly cleaning his new mouthpiece, leading to potential issues such as infections.

‘Although it has been reported that the dentist has given him custom equipment to help clean his teeth, such a bulky one-piece appliance is going to be hard to clean,’ he explained.

‘Microscopically, there will be a lot of food, bacteria and debris getting underneath the titanium which can then cause a lot of bad breath, sensitivity, tooth decay and gum issues such as disease and infection if the titanium is there long term.’

Dr. Koh suggests that Kanye most likely shaved his teeth down and affixed the titanium dentures on top of them, rather than completely removing his teeth.

The remaining part of the teeth will shift over time, causing the deterioration of the adhesive holding the titanium in place.

This deterioration will result in ‘microgaps’ where bacteria and decay can develop over time.

‘This would then lead to either the bridge coming loose over time, or much worse, dental decay, infection, and disease with the bacteria able to then get inside the teeth,’ he warned.

If left untreated, the decay could spread and cause severe gum disease, necessitating Kanye to undergo multiple root canals due to dental infections and potentially even have all his teeth removed.

Dr. Koh also expressed concerns that Kanye may struggle to eat, as the surfaces of his new mouthpiece are flat and bulky, making it difficult to tear and chew food.

Dr. Koh also informed Daily Mail Australia that Kanye’s teeth are unlikely to be worth $850,000 as previously reported.

‘Practically and clinically, the titanium, labor from both the dentist and the lab making the “teeth” wouldn’t cost anywhere near this much,’ he said.

‘It’s really hard to estimate something unique like this, but if someone were to do something like this in Australia, it would only perhaps cost maybe at most, $100k AUD or less!”
