Unfortunate Incident: Man Shoots Himself in the Leg While Dreaming of a Robbery

Reports indicate that a 62-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the leg while dreaming of a robbery.

According to the New York Post, Mark M. Dicara was discovered at his residence in Illinois, USA with a gunshot wound to his leg in April.

He recounted to law enforcement that he was experiencing a nightmare about being robbed, prompting him to reach for his .357 Magnum Revolver while still asleep.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office stated, ‘When he fired, he shot himself and apparently woke up from the dream.’

The bullet passed through his leg and into the bed. Police verification confirmed that no burglary had occurred.

Dicara faced charges for possessing a firearm with a revoked Firearm Owners Identification card, as required in Illinois.

Additionally, he was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and was released on bail after posting a $150,000 bond.

His court appearance is scheduled for June 29.
