IPAC Urges Rhodes-Vivour and Jandor to Congratulate Sanwo-Olu on Supreme Court Verdict

In response to the recent Supreme Court ruling upholding the victory of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the 2023 Lagos State Governorship Election, the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, in Lagos State, has called on the candidates of the Labour Party and PDP, Gbadebo Rhode-Viviour and Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor) respectively, to extend their congratulations to the governor.

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeals of LP’s Rhodes-Vivour and PDP’s Adediran, affirming Sanwo-Olu as the duly elected governor of Lagos state. The court cited the appeals as lacking in merit and being an abuse of the court process.

Olusegun Mobolaji, the IPAC Chairman in Lagos State, emphasized that following the apex court’s decision, it is appropriate for both Adediran and Rhode-Viviour to rejoice with Sanwo-Olu and offer their congratulations, while awaiting upcoming electoral processes.

He also stressed the need for collaboration among election stakeholders, as well as institutions including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security, and the judiciary, to enhance Nigeria’s democratic system.
