Lionel Messi suspended for two weeks by Paris Saint-Germain for making unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia

Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly suspended superstar footballer Lionel Messi for two weeks due to an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia. The Argentina World Cup winner had traveled to Saudi Arabia for a pre-arranged commercial commitment as a tourism ambassador, despite the team’s scheduled day off being called in for training following a previous loss. Consequently, Messi was unable to attend training and was subsequently pictured in Riyadh, resulting in PSG docking two weeks’ wages and initiating disciplinary proceedings. As a consequence, Messi will miss the next two PSG games. Despite being offered a new contract by PSG, Messi has yet to commit his future to the club as Barcelona continues to push for his return to Spain.
