US de-transitioner who had her breasts removed as a teen is having boob job to reclaim her femininity as she warns other trans girls
The decision of a US de-transitioner, who underwent a double mastectomy as a teenager, to have breast augmentation surgery as a way to reclaim her femininity while at the same time warning other transgender individuals has sparked discussion. Alia Ismail, who had identified as a transgender man, is now planning to have surgery to regain her breasts.
Ismail, now 28, had undergone hormone therapy and had her breasts removed at the age of 20 after coming out as a transgender man at 18. However, in February 2021, she decided to detransition after realizing that her transgender identity did not align with her true self.
Her detransitioning journey began with discontinuing testosterone therapy. Recently, she has made the decision to undergo a fat graft transfer to reconstruct her breasts, and she intends to use a breast enhancement device to prepare her skin for the surgery and improve blood flow to her breasts.
According to Ismail, the choice of fat grafting is based on her preference for the most natural process and her concerns about health risks associated with implants. Despite expressing moments of regret about her previous mastectomy, she remains optimistic about the upcoming surgery, acknowledging that it is the best option for her. She also emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and expressed confidence in the success of the procedure.
