Tragic News: Amie Harwick, ex-fiancee of comedian Drew Carey, killed in Hollywood

The Hollywood community is mourning the loss of Amie Harwick, a renowned sex therapist and former fiancee of comedian Drew Carey, who was tragically killed over the weekend in Hollywood.

Reportedly, 38-year-old Harwick was found unresponsive in her home with injuries consistent with a fall, according to a statement from the LAPD.

Authorities responded to a disturbance call in Harwick’s Hollywood Hills neighborhood, where they found her gravely injured and unresponsive after an apparent assault inside her home.

Further investigations revealed she had fallen from a third-story balcony and she was rushed to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

An ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, has been arrested as a suspect in her death and is being held on a $2 million bail.

Prior to her tragic death, Harwick had expressed fear about her ex-boyfriend, for which she had previously obtained a restraining order that had unfortunately expired, as stated by the authorities.

Harwick, a well-known therapist in West Hollywood, had been engaged to Drew Carey, the host of “The Price is Right,” in 2018, however, the couple separated a year later.

Expressing his grief, Carey wrote in a statement, “Amie and I had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime. She was a positive force in the world, a tireless and unapologetic champion for women, and passionate about her work as a therapist. I am overcome with grief. I would like to thank you in advance for giving myself and everyone who loved Amie privacy while we try to work through this tragic situation.”
